Professor Suneth Agampodi included in the World's Top 2% Scientists list by Stanford University

Chair Professor of the Department of Community Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, has been listed among the World’s Top 2% Scientists.

Professor Suneth Agampodi has 107 scientific papers published in journals listed in Web of Science Master’s journal list with a Google Scholar H index of 24.

Stanford team have created a publicly available database of over 100,000 top scientists. This list provides standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator. Separate data are shown for career-long and single year impact. Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. Field- and subfield-specific percentiles are also provided. Career-long data are updated to the end-of-2020. The selection is based on the top 100,000 by c-score or a percentile rank of 2% or above.”

Updated databases of top 2% scientists and code are freely available in Mendeley.

The full list of Sri Lankan Researchers who are included in the World's Top 2% Scientists list.

The report prepared by a team of experts at Stanford University includes only 24 Sri Lankan scientists including researchers from the Universities of Kelaniya, Colombo, Sri Jayawardanapura, Peradeniya, Wayamba, Jaffna and IWMI. Most of the researchers are from the field of Medicine and the University of Kelaniya tops the list with five scientists.

Rajarata University of Sri Lanka has two researchers included in the list with the former professor in the department of pharmacology, Dr Channa Jayasumana (the current State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals)
