
Leptospirosis research group and the Leptospirosis Research laboratory of the DoCM received a major sub award from Yale University to continue the collaboration on leptospirosis research work. This is the fifth year of NIH funded ICIDR (International Collaborations in Infectious Disease Research) grant. This is multi-country project involving Peru, USA and Sri Lanka. Two PhD students and three MPhil students are currently working on epidemiology, microbiology, diagnosis and immune mechanism of leptospirosis in Sri Lanka under this project. The project received four years of funding previously through University of California San Diego. Fifth year grant will support the laboratory component and international training for researchers and investigators.
