Family Study work featured in NCDFREEtv

The Family study programme of the department of Community Medicine, FMAS, RUSL was featured in NCDFREEtv.
“To coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day, the film focuses on the growing burden of suicide in low and middle income settings, describing the troubling relationship between chronic kidney disease, alcoholism and suicide in rural Sri Lanka.”
The film is based on the suicide prevention programme done by the department first PhD students Dr.Manjula Weerasinghe. To illustrate the issue, film makers featured a family which received care from a group of undergraduate medical students during the family study programme.
